Does my photo get uploaded anywhere? +

Nope. Your photo is opened and processed in this browser’s memory. Pixelize never uploads it to a server, creates an account, or stores your images.

Is this a filter or generative AI? +

It’s image processing: your photo becomes a small grid, its colors are simplified, and the pixels are enlarged without smoothing. It doesn’t use generative AI to redraw your face. Same you, a little blockier.

What kind of photo works best? +

A clear, well-lit face and a simple background work great. Bring a JPG, PNG, or WebP up to 20 MB and 40 megapixels. For iPhone HEIC photos, export a JPG first.

Can I make this my PFP? +

Absolutely. Pick “Square PFP” in the framing options and download your PNG. Crops are centered, and transparent PNGs keep their transparency.

Do I need tokens or a wallet to use the studio? +

No tokens, wallet, or login needed. The studio is free to use and exports without a watermark. Downloads use whole pixel multiples to keep every little square crisp.
